My Media Consumption

 Newspapers

  • Which daily newspapers (if any) do you read? I don't really read newspapers that often.
  • What sections of newspapers do you turn to first, and why? If I was to read, I would turn to the sports section.
  • What sections do you never read, and why? Classified advertisements.
  • What kinds of stories do you usually read and why? sports.
  • Do you, or someone else, buy the newspaper you read? Yes, my grandparents buy newspapers.
  • Do you look at the online versions of any newspapers? No 
  • Which newspapers? Why do you visit their website and not others? 

Magazines
  • What magazines (if any) do you buy regularly?  Why/why not? I don't buy any magazines because I can find everything on social media. 
  • What sections of the magazines do you read and not read, and why? If i was to read a magazine i would read the sports section first then the local news.

Television
  • Approximately how many hours a week do you spend watching television? Roughly 3 hours a week. 
  • What device do you use to watch television? TV.
  • What times of day do you usually watch television? After my dinner because beforehand i would be busy.
  • What programmes do you like best and why? Impractical jokers and Top gear.
  • Do you watch alone or with others? I usually watch TV with whoever there.If you watch with others, who decides what you will watch? Both see what we want to watch.
  • Do you watch 'live' TV or on-demand/catch-up? Do you use any other devices to watch TV (such as laptop or tablet?) I watch whatever on and interesting.

Radio
  • Do you listen to the radio? Sometimes when i'm in the car
  • If yes, what stations do you like best and why? Capital 
  • Do you listen to podcasts? I don't mind them.
  • If yes, what podcasts have you listened to recently? You tubers podcast.
  • Approximately how many hours a week do you spend listening to podcasts or radio? less than 1.
  • What times of the day do you usually listen to podcasts or radio? When in the car.
  • Where do you listen to podcast or radio? Car.
  • What other activities (if any) do you do whilst listening?I usually have podcasts or radio as background sound for when i am doing a labouring job.
  • Does anyone else in your house listen to the radio or podcasts? If so, when do they listen? Whoever in the car unless they connect Bluetooth.

Film
  • What films have you seen in the cinema in the last month? I haven't any.
  • What films have you seen in other places – for example, through Netflix, Amazon Prime, satellite/cable film channels (free or otherwise) or streaming? Last film I watched was America SNIPER
  • Who else watched the films with you? family
  • Who decided what films to watch?Family.
  • What devices do you typically use to watch films: TV, laptop, tablet, phone etc.?Tv

Online
  • How often do you access the internet?Everyday
  • Where do you access the internet? At home, at school, commuting etc.At home.
  • What are the main sites that you access?Google,you tube and Instagram.
  • What are the main reasons for accessing these sites – for example, for information, to make purchases, communicate with friends or for entertainment? Entertainment.
  • What other activities (if any) do you do whilst accessing the internet? Relaxation.
  • What different devices do you use to access the internet? What is your primary device for accessing the internet?I use my mobile phone or i watch stuff on my laptop.
  • What social networks do you use regularly (e.g. Twitter, Instagram)? Why do you belong to these networks in particular?Instagram, just convenient for loads of data in such a small place.

  • How can you develop the amount and variety of media you consume?HAve lots of newspaper
  • What will you change in your media consumption habits this year as a result of studying A Level Media? reduce screen time.
  • List three sources of media (websites/newspapers/apps/TV programmes etc.) that you will start to access this year that you haven't engaged with previously.Twiiter news paper
